The book ALTER_ATION contains fragments of several years’ research into some of the impacts of the HIV-AIDS crisis on queer subjectivities as much as on artistic and activist practices. Through this writing, I am attempting to produce a living history, affected and situated in the present. The historical representations all serve as entry points to contemporary issues linked to the subject. In response to this writing, an edition has been produced and events have taken place to activate the voices that have gone through the research. The aim is to be part of a process of movement and transformation of the dominant narratives, often set in the West and invisibilising a completely different reality of the epidemic.
